vidyut.info is the personal website of Vidyut Gore. This page explains what data this site handles, why, and your choices. The short version: we don’t sell or share your data, and there are no advertising trackers. These terms pair with our Terms of Service.

Data we collect

  • Newsletter subscriptions — If you subscribe, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name. Every subscription is confirmed by a double opt-in email: nothing is added to the list until you click the confirmation link. Newsletter emails may include open- and click-tracking, so I know what readers find useful. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • Analytics — The site may run a simple analytics tag (such as Google Analytics) that counts visits and shows which pages people read. It does not collect your name, email address, or anything you type.
  • Correspondence — If you email us, we keep that email.
  • Server logs — Our hosting provider records standard technical logs: IP address, pages requested, timestamps. These exist for security and troubleshooting.

Data we do not collect

  • Comments are closed, so nothing is collected there.
  • No advertising or social-media tracking scripts run on this site.

What we do with it

Newsletter data is used only to send you the newsletter you asked for. Analytics data is used only to understand what this site’s readers find useful. Logs are used to keep the site running and secure. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone, except the service providers needed to operate the site: our hosting provider and the email service that delivers newsletter sends.

Retention

Your subscription is kept until you unsubscribe — unsubscribing removes you from the list. Server logs rotate out on the host’s normal schedule.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted — including by unsubscribing, which is one click from the bottom of any newsletter. Data-protection law may give you further rights (for example under GDPR or India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act); whatever applies to you, just ask.
