Stevia is a small plant with very sweet leaves which can be used as a sugar substitute with near zero calories. Additionally, it is also known to help reduce blood sugar levels in individuals with high blood sugar/diabetes. While stevia is now commercially available in many forms ranging from highly processed (and adulterated with other sweeteners) to extracts or powdered dry leaves, the most natural way, of course is to reach out a hand and pluck a leaf or two to drop into your tea. It is also simple to harvest leaves at the end of the season and simply dry and powder them for a completely natural home made sugar free sweetener.
Each packet contains 50 seeds.
To sow, simply sprinkle them on damp substrate. Don’t cover.
At least in my experience, stevia doesn’t have many pests and is fairly easy to grow.
